Andy, you have a First Amendment right to dunk on politicians online.

Our client, Amanda McGonigle, runs the political commentary page @catsonacouch, where she exercises her constitutional right to free speech by making fun of Vice President Vance.

But when she tried to attend an official, taxpayer-funded event that she'd registered for, she was stopped by armed Secret Service agents who identified her by name, ejected her from the line, and told her she wasn't allowed in because "we know where you stand."

Vice President Vance may not be able to take a joke, but that doesn't mean our client can't make one – and punishing someone for their free speech is a cat-aclysmic blow to the First Amendment.

All cat puns aside, Andy, this is part of a disturbing pattern of the Trump administration cracking down on free speech. The Trump administration has detained and attempted to deport protesters, it's curtailed press freedoms, and it's politicized agencies like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) against comedians like Jimmy Kimmel.

For coming after our constitutionally protected speech, we will see the government in court. And we'll keep you updated as it all unfolds.
