Andy – California cops should be required to follow state laws, even when working with federal law enforcement on task forces. Across the country, these task forces are being used to deprive people of their right to hold their government accountable with local police being forced to serve as foot soldiers. These task forces target and monitor activists, detain protestors and rapid responders who work to keep their community safe, and use racial profiling and traffic stops as an excuse to transfer people to ICE. We need your help to ensure SB 1105, the Protect California Rights Act, passes so that your local cops are not forced to carry out Trump's agenda against your neighbors. The powerful police lobby is trying to defeat SB 1105 by saying they can’t be asked to ensure these task forces don’t break our laws, leaving your community unprotected. Tell your lawmaker to act now and vote YES on SB 1105. David Trijillo |
