A Message From Our Tour de Cure Leadership Chair

I am honored to serve as Chair of the 2026 Tour de Cure Northern California. As Chief Operating Officer of QuantumScape, I know the power of bringing people together to solve important challenges. Supporting the American Diabetes Association is especially meaningful to me because this mission is personal.
I watched both of my parents navigate the challenges of diabetes later in life, and that experience strengthened my commitment to helping improve the lives of people living with diabetes and those who love and support them.
For me, Tour de Cure is about more than cycling. It's about investing in life-changing research, advocacy, and programs that improve lives today while bringing us closer to a cure.
This year, our goal is to raise $1.5 million and bring together 1,200 participants, volunteers, donors, and supporters on September 27. I invite you to join us by riding, volunteering, fundraising, making a donation, or encouraging your company to get involved.

Tour de Cure is the moment for corporations, organizations, and individuals to come together and show our community how much we care—and how much we’ll do to end diabetes. Join us on Sunday, September 27, in Palo Alto and help increase awareness, provide vital programs, fund lifesaving research, and work toward a cure.
Tour de Cure: Northern California offers ride options for every age and ability level. Whether you're looking for a challenging Metric Century (100K) ride with scenic climbs and breathtaking views; a moderate Half Metric Century (50K) route through the beautiful communities of Palo Alto, Woodside, and Portola Valley; or a relaxed, 10K family-friendly ride along local roads and trails, there's a route for you.
No matter which course you choose, you'll enjoy fully supported rest stops, snacks and hydration, ride marshals, SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles, and a fun finish-line celebration featuring food, music, and festivities.

Healthy Travel Tips for a Safe and Active Summer
|
Summer travel is a great time to relax, recharge, and stay active. Plan ahead by packing healthy snacks, drinking plenty of water, and building movement into your day through walking, sightseeing, swimming, or other activities.
If you’re living with diabetes, having your medications and supplies in your carry-on when flying and packing extras is important in case of delays. Changes in your physical activity, meals, time zones, and weather can affect your blood glucose (blood sugar) levels, so you may need to check more often and keep a source of fast-acting carbs, like glucose tablets/gel with you. Before flying, review the travel guidance from the manufacturers of the devices you use and notify TSA of them at the airport’s security checkpoint.
