American Kennel Club & New Zealand Kennel Club Announce Mutual Cooperation Agreement

The American Kennel Club (AKC) and New Zealand Kennel Club (NZKC) are pleased to announce that they have entered into a mutual cooperation agreement. This partnership strengthens global collaboration around both organizations' shared priorities, expanding and enhancing canine events and registrations, advancing education and health initiatives, supporting responsible breeding, and promoting purebred dogs as valued family companions, while delivering meaningful benefits to breeders, exhibitors, and dog owners in both the United States and New Zealand.

The AKC is pleased to announce the judging panel for the AKC Royal Canin National All-Breed Puppy and Junior Stakes to be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida in conjunction with the AKC National Championship Presented by Royal Canin.

Nominate a Dog Today!

Each year, the AKC Humane Fund gives six awards to hardworking dogs for making significant contributions to an individual or entire community. Winners will be highlighted in a made-for-tv special created by AKC productions. Anyone, including the dog’s owner or handler, may submit a nomination. Nominations close July 1st!

Federal Update: US Senate May Consider Farm Bill in June

House Farm bill, H.R. 7567, is moving to the Senate. The Senate Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry Committee is expected to release and mark up its version of the bill in June, and animal extremist organizations, determined to make it tougher to breed dogs or use them for their intended breed or purpose (including hunting, scent, sporting and detection work) are walking the halls of Congress, and proposing  new restrictions that would harm responsible dog breeders.
