Fatherhood is a journey that looks a little different for every man that takes it. Here is how these Alexandre dads speak on fatherhood:
Blake Alexandre - Any advice for new dads?
“You have to think twice. It’s long-term thinking and if I had to boil it down to one piece of advice for a young father, I would say: don’t try to raise a kid, raise an adult.”
Joseph Alexandre - What is an aspect of fatherhood that has caused you to lean harder on the Lord?
“The lack of knowing the right answer. I think that going through life and looking at my father, he always displayed knowing the right answer and I know now that when I go through life I’m trying to display an answer that is right and appropriate, but really it’s in God’s hands - I’ve asked him what is the right thing to do in this situation and it’s so much in God’s hands that I go through life and make the decisions that I do, trying to please Him.”
Christian Alexandre - Any advice for new dads?
“When my wife was pregnant with our first, I told my father I wasn’t ready and he said, “You never will be, this is why you have kids so that you will be ready.” It makes you realize that our dads were all just kids, too, when they had us and they got wiser as they went on.”
Justin Nunes - What is something you hope your kids remember about you?
“That I always have a smile and always try to be happy. Smiles go a long way, and even if something’s going wrong, mentally it’ll push you in the right direction.”
