| | HOW TO MEAL PLANNING & PREPTips for saving time during a busy week |
|
| Meal planning is one of the simplest ways to bring more ease and structure to your week. By creating a plan and sticking to it, you’ll spend less time in the kitchen and less money on last-minute takeout. With a little organization, meal prep can help you feed your family nourishing meals while reducing stress and decision fatigue.
A great strategy is to focus on recipes that share overlapping ingredients. For example, if you’re already prepping breakfast burritos, you can use many of the same components to build Mexican-inspired bowls. Prepping both breakfast and lunch ahead of time not only saves valuable time in the morning but also ensures you and your family are fueled for the day.
When it comes to dinner, choose easy, low-effort options like crockpot meals or sheet pan dinners. Plan ahead by chopping ingredients and packing them in a ziplock bag.
Here are a few tried and true tips: Plan your weekly menu and write it down. Having a clear plan and posting it in a common area eliminates daily guesswork. Do one big shop—or schedule delivery. Stocking up before the week begins keeps you organized. Grocery delivery can also be a worthwhile time-saver when you’re preparing several meals in advance. Batch cook and portion meals. Cook in bulk and store meals in containers for the week. Plan to eat something for lunch that you made for dinner earlier in the week so you’re not stuck cooking an entirely separate meal. Keep meals simple. Not every meal needs to be elaborate. A protein + veggie + grain is both nourishing and satisfying. Prep dinner ingredients in advance. Chopping veggies or portioning proteins ahead of time makes it easy to toss everything into a crockpot before heading out in the morning.

| | | LUNCH BOXTips, Hacks, and Healthy Suggestions |
|
| A well-packed lunch box is a great way to support your littles on a long day of learning. Packing a nourishing meal with special surprises like a sweet note, a tasty new treat, or their favorite sandwich combo are symbols of love that can make their day a little better.
Here are a few tips to show your care while providing a nourishing lunch: Add a personal note. Write a short message on a napkin or index card to let them know you’re proud of them. Include a funny joke, Bible verse, or rhyme for a special touch! Make a weekly plan. Take a few minutes at the start of the week to map out what your kids will be eating. A rough outline helps with grocery shopping and reduces stress in the when packing in the morning. Prep ahead. Assemble five sandwiches to store in the fridge, wash and portion fruit, and buy or make snacks ahead of time. A little weekend prep makes busy weekday mornings much smoother. Build balanced meals. Start with a protein-rich item, such as an egg salad sandwich, which provides the bulk of their calories. Then add in a fruit or veggie, a source of healthy fat, and another protein-rich snack. Prioritizing protein helps kids stay full, energized, and focused throughout the day.
Example Lunch: Egg Salad Sandwich (pick a sourdough bread or sprouted wheat bread, if possible) Homemade Yogurt Pouch (see above) Strawberries or an apple with peanut butter Cashews or almonds
Other healthy lunch items: A2/A2 Organic Yogurt with berries Cottage Cheese Applesauce with cinnamon and hemp Seeds Grass-Fed beef sticks Hard boiled pasture-raised eggs Carrot strips and hummus Cheese cubes and crackers No bake Energy bites Mini banana muffins
