AlgoKit 3.0: Native TypeScript for Smart Contracts
AlgoKit 3.0 brings native TypeScript support to Algorand, empowering developers to build full-stack web3 applications with a single language! Following last year's Python integration, TypeScript support continues our commitment to meeting developers where they are. The update includes Algorand TypeScript for smart contracts, a redesigned AlgoKit Utils library, advanced unit testing capabilities, a visual AVM debugger, Lora the Explorer for blockchain visualization, and subscriber libraries for watching on-chain events. These enhancements significantly lower barriers to Web3 development and improve the overall developer experience.

The New Developer Portal is Now Live!
After two years of rapid evolution following AlgoKit 1.0's release, we're excited to launch our completely redesigned Developer Portal! This comprehensive update addresses the challenges developers faced with outdated resources and fragmented documentation. The new portal features up-to-date documentation covering all aspects of Algorand development, over 2,000 code snippets and 130+ complete examples in TypeScript, Python, and TEAL, and integrated resources that bring together all AlgoKit tools. Optimized for LLMs to streamline pair coding with AI, our new portal eliminates the need to search across multiple sources, providing a single, authoritative destination for Algorand developers at every experience level.

Algorand Developer Retreat - Hack from Home
Join the 2025 Algorand Developer Retreat next week, a collaborative open-source coding event coinciding with the launch of AlgoKit 3.0, from wherever you are! Unlike traditional hackathons, this event focuses on collaborating and building valuable open-source resources for the entire Algorand ecosystem without prizes or competition. Submissions are due by April 3rd. Check out Brian's announcement on X for complete details, registration information, and virtual participation guidelines.
Pera Wallet for iOS and Android is Now Open Source
Pera Wallet has completed its open-source journey by making its iOS development repository fully public, following its existing Android repo. The change brings complete transparency with development happening in public repositories, enables direct contributions through pull requests, and provides functional forks that work immediately when cloned. This community-driven approach allows for multilateral development and deeper integration with third-party products. The move reinforces Pera's commitment to open-source principles within the Algorand ecosystem, enabling collaborative development and community ownership.

NodeKit 1.4 Release
NodeKit 1.4 improves node management, telemetry controls, and user experience for Algorand node operators. It now prompts for fast catchup when your node lags behind the network and introduces two new telemetry commands to improve management. The UI includes helpful keybinding labels, and participation key generation now has sensible default durations. We've also fixed the "stale online" detection bug, refactored the modal subsystem, and expanded tests and documentation for telemetry functionality.
