Happy Sunday! Steph here from the Anyday Test Kitchen. As I gear up for back-to-school time, I’ve been leaning hard on make-ahead oatmeal to make my mornings less chaotic. While I’m scrambling to find my keys, pack a lunch, and answer some work emails before 9am, I can rest easy knowing I’ve already got breakfast handled.
Here’s how:
I batch-cook oatmeal — once.
Instead of starting from scratch every morning, I make a big batch of oatmeal on Sundays in the microwave using the 12-Cup Deep Dish. I portion it into the 1/2 Cup Anytime Freezer Trays, let them cool, and freeze. (If you’ve never frozen oatmeal before, this is a total game changer.)
I reheat a portion whenever I need it.
Each morning, I pop out a portion or two, reheat the oatmeal in a Small Dish in the microwave, and top with whatever I’m feeling — almond butter, fruit, or maybe a drizzle of maple syrup. The texture stays creamy and smooth, and I can eat it straight out of the dish I reheated it in. One less bowl to wash.
Cleanup couldn’t be easier.
After breakfast, I just toss the dish and lid into the dishwasher. No stuck-on mess, no extra pots to soak or scrub when I get home. Everything is dishwasher-safe, so cleanup is as effortless as breakfast.
I basically stopped skipping breakfast.
I used to tell myself I was too busy to eat in the morning, but now that I can reheat oatmeal in under two minutes, I’ve got no excuse. Plus, it feels so much better to start the day with something warm and filling — especially when it involves practically zero effort.
If your mornings are feeling a little out of control, make-ahead oatmeal might just fix everything!
