A Note from the Scribe 21 grams is, apparently, the weight of your soul. Mine is probably less. My wife sometimes says I don't even have one! I will grant her, it's probably more like 7-10 grams. But know for sure Brian Graham has a BIG Texas-fed soul and he pours everything he's got into his wines. You may know the label this will be released under. Or you may not. But it will be the first vintage he made for said label. I can't tell you the truth about where it comes from. If you're smart, you'll figure it out. Hell, if you aren't smart, you probably will too. Scores or not, we loved working with Brian and this fruit. Bobby and I both share a love for Grenache and Rhone blends. Think easygoing CdP with a California vibe. It won't be a big ol' bloody mineral festival in your mouth and it doesn't have that wild "garrique" from Southern Rhone but it makes up for that with loads of black and red fruit, tar and violet, and peppered jerky. If you found any other similar blend from Judge Vineyard, you'd pay somewhere closer to $80 most days. I think it's a good deal. If I could force it in your mouth, you'd probably agree. Maybe soon we'll have the tech, but for now you just gotta trust me it's some good $#!t. — MikeThe Scribe |
