The Lunar New Year is here, marking a fresh start on the traditional lunisolar calendar. In China and other Southeast Asian countries, people take this time to clean their homes (a way to ward off bad luck) and set off fireworks to symbolize a fresh start. Am I going to spruce up my whole apartment? Probably not…but I like pretending that I might.
