When the going got tough Sunday at the Erste Bank Open, Jannik Sinner found a way to get going.

The No. 2 in the PIF ATP Rankings rallied past Alexander Zverev in an absorbing title match to claim his second title at the Vienna ATP 500. Sinner, who had not dropped a set all week prior to his 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory, battled through cramp in the decider to clinch his fourth tour-level crown of the season.

“The third set was a bit of a roller coaster, but I was feeling the ball very well at times,” he reflected. “I tried to push and I’m very happy of course to win another title. It’s very special.”

Sinner’s victory was a significant statement to his rivals ahead of the final three weeks of the 2025 season. He will head into this week’s Rolex Paris Masters on a 21-match winning streak indoors and, regardless of how he fares in the French capital, the Italian will have plenty of confidence to carry through to his upcoming Nitto ATP Finals title defence.

Later on Sunday, Joao Fonseca joined the ATP 500 winners’ club with the title at the Swiss Indoors Basel. The #NextGenATP Brazilian dedicated the biggest title of his career so far to his mother, who arrived in Basel just one hour before the final.

Sinner and Fonseca will look to continue their indoor form this week in France. World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz leads the field at La Défense Arena, the new venue of the Rolex Paris Masters, while a host of stars will also bid to secure one of the remaining four Nitto ATP Finals qualification spots.

Joao Fonseca added a second ATP Tour title to his breakthrough 2025 season at the Swiss Indoors Basel, where the 19-year-old overcame Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to become the third-youngest player to win an ATP 500 crown. Fonseca has now climbed to a career-high No. 28 in the PIF ATP Rankings, having started the year at No. 145.

After three long months on the sidelines due to a pectoral injury, the 34-year-old Bulgarian is finally back in action at the Rolex Paris Masters this week — and you can feel his relief radiating throughout La Défense Arena.

“There are a lot of good and mixed feelings in the most positive way, but it's nice to be back with the boys and starting to challenge each other again,” Dimitrov told ATPTour.com. “It's been a good week for me so far, trying to get as many hours as possible on the court because this is what I've craved. At the same time, I'm also trying to keep things at the most basic stuff.

“Of course, my goal is coming back to full force next year, but it's a great challenge for me right now just to see how the body will respond.”
