It all adds up to this.

After more than 10 months of red-hot action across the season, an elite eight has distinguished itself from the pack and is ready to take to court at the Nitto ATP Finals.

After claiming the title in 2024, home favourite Jannik Sinner will again hope to channel raucous home support in Turin in pursuit of the trophy at the season finale. The Italian has been drawn in Bjorn Borg Group alongside Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton and Felix Auger-Aliassime.

Yet Sinner is also locked in a direct battle with a rival not in his group in Turin: The Italian is bidding to haul in Carlos Alcaraz in pursuit of ATP Year-End No. 1 presented by PIF honours.

The Spaniard will take on Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur and Lorenzo Musetti in Jimmy Connors Group. Alcaraz leads Sinner by 1,050 points in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin and needs to earn just 450 points from his Turin campaign to secure Year-End No. 1 for the second time. Sinner must successfully defend his title to have any chance of pipping Alcaraz to the post.

"I'm just really motivated to perform well, to play my best tennis, trying to get some wins here, trying to qualify to the semi-finals,” Alcaraz told ATPTour.com in Turin. "I think doing good in this tournament, winning matches here, it comes together with ending the year as No. 1. It's kind of the same motivation, they stick together.”

Novak Djokovic delivered a typically gutsy showing in a three-hour marathon final against Lorenzo Musetti to claim the title at the Vanda Pharmaceuticals Hellenic Championship. By lifting the 101st tour-level title of his career in Athens, Djokovic moved ahead of his great rival Roger Federer for the most Open Era crowns won on hard courts (72).

Learner Tien became the first American teenager to win an ATP Tour title since Andy Roddick in 2002 by triumphing at the Moselle Open in Metz. The 19-year-old’s path to victory in France was far from straightforward, but he raised his game to rally from 1/5 in the third-set tie-break and overcome Cameron Norrie in the championship match.

Former champions, event debutants, previous finalists out for redemption and two teams in a battle for ATP Year-End Doubles No. 1 presented by PIF honours: There are plenty of storylines to be had from the doubles lineup at the 2025 Nitto ATP Finals.

The best eight performing teams across the season gathered on Saturday at Inalpi Arena in Turin for media day ahead of the prestigious season finale. Among them were 2024 titlists Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz, who will this year line up as the sixth seeds.

“Very nice [to be back], of course,” Krawietz told ATPTour.com in Turin. “I’ve got a lot of nice memories coming here. To practise here and see the guys and end up here in the top eight, that was our goal at the beginning of the season. We made it again, so let’s go to compete.”
