Dear Friend,

Right now, communities across the San Antonio area in Texas are facing devastating floods, with even more rain and hazardous conditions expected in the coming days. As families and their pets work to reach safety, Best Friends Animal Society is providing support to impacted animal shelters as they care for displaced and homeless pets.

To provide immediate support where it’s needed most, we’re currently sending emergency supplies to shelters in affected communities and collaborating with the Footbridge Foundation, Hill Country Humane Society, and Austin Pets Alive! to help them move even more pets out of danger.

We're also working together with Wings of Rescue to move 88 adoptable dogs and cats — those who were homeless and in the shelter before the floods hit — from Austin Pets Alive! and the Footbridge Foundation to the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in Salt Lake City. Moving pets who were already in shelter care allows room for pets displaced by the floods to be rescued and reunited with their families.

Your support is what makes these lifesaving efforts possible. Please donate to Best Friends’ Texas emergency response efforts today and provide dogs and cats and impacted shelters with emergency care, transportation, supplies, and critical assistance. If any funds are donated beyond the amount Best Friends spends for direct flood response, those funds will support lifesaving work for Texas communities.
