4X match to keep hope alive for people at immediate risk

Andy, people around the world are counting on Amnesty International:

Families caught in armed conflict, hoping and praying they survive the next missile attack. Refugees forced from their homes, tortured in prisons. Journalists jailed — or even killed — for doing their jobs.

Munther Amira, a Palestinian social worker and human rights defender, looked to Amnesty when Israeli forces held him in prison for six months for participating in a peaceful protest:

“When I was told by my lawyer in Ofer prison that Amnesty International is planning to campaign on my case, it gave me so much strength — I felt that I was not alone, that I haven’t been forgotten, that Israel’s attempts to make us disappear behind bars, to silence us, have not actually succeeded.

Life in prison was very difficult and I was treated badly, but the support of those who believed in me made me strong.”

Together, we helped free Munther. This is what Amnesty has been doing for exactly 65 years — we raise our collective voices to defend human rights and fight for justice. This year has already demanded so much, but we must keep at it.

You’ve shown that you care enough to help whenever and wherever human rights are under attack. And Andy, with so many people looking to Amnesty for help right now, we’re sounding the call for you to renew your support.

Today, in honor of Amnesty’s 65th anniversary, we have a special 4X matching gift for our annual Human Rights Giving Day campaign.

Your gift will be QUADRUPLED in size. Please step up today as one of the 650 donors we’re counting on to strengthen our fiercely independent human rights work.

As you read this, children and parents are wondering if they will survive another night. Human rights activists are wondering if they’ll ever step outside of their jail cell and feel the sun on their faces.

Their hope is for our movement to shine a light on the injustice they are experiencing and demand action:

  • Over 30 million people in Sudan are in desperate need of aid — communities are under siege, and children are starving.1 Amnesty is deploying to neighboring Chad to interview survivors who have fled unimaginable violence.
  • Medics and first responders in Lebanon are being targeted and killed by Israeli forces — Amnesty is documenting evidence and ensuring these attacks do not go unreported.2
  • Two million women, men, and children in Gaza remain trapped under Israel’s ongoing genocide, struggling to survive relentless hunger and bombardment. Amnesty remains on the ground in Gaza, documenting the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure and gathering evidence of war crimes.3
  • Immigrants and asylum-seekers in the U.S. are under constant attack as the Trump administration implements its cruel mass detention and deportation machine. Amnesty is exposing torture in U.S. detention facilities.4

SEND 4X THE HELP

Amnesty is expertly equipped and uniquely positioned to deploy all around the world and bring global attention to human rights crises. We’re holding governments, militaries, and institutions accountable. It’s what we do best.

And I’m proud to say that we don’t take a dime from governments or special interest groups for our research and advocacy. Our independence is what allows us to investigate abuses fearlessly and speak out without compromise.

But that independence depends on people like you: Every investigation, every urgent deployment, every piece of evidence we gather is only possible because of people like you who care and choose to chip in to fund our work.

Right now, donations are being 4X matched for Human Rights Giving Day — Amnesty’s founding anniversary.

This is a rare match, so I hope you’ll join us while your impact can go that much farther. Children and families are counting on us, and we’re counting on you.

Thank you for helping us meet every moment,
