He ran his first TNT marathon in his early 20s. That year’s Honored Hero, a little girl with leukemia, kept him going. “I thought of her during training and the race and tried to picture what she was going through,” he recalls.
Almost two decades later, the roles flipped. Facing a Burkitt lymphoma diagnosis, he leaned on the very Blood Cancer United resources he’d helped fund—like talking to a volunteer with his same diagnosis.
