Aero was only three when her parents learned she had B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). “Things froze for me,” Michelle, Aero’s mom, recalls. “I hadn’t known anyone with blood cancer before.”
Aero lost her hair and spent long days in the hospital. She also had to wear an adult-sized medical backpack for treatment around the clock—even while she slept. It was heavy, awkward, and scary for a three-year-old.
So, her mom helped create a kid-sized backpack. Once Aero had it, her spark came back. She even danced in a recital while wearing it! |
