With seasonal changes come rapid growth in your plants! You may need to water more frequently. Always water plants deeply until excess water drips from the drainage hole. The level of light your plants get will also vary throughout the seasons. In the summer, plants can be susceptible to sun-burned leaves due to the intense rays of summer sunshine! Pay attention to how much direct sun your plants are getting and adjust their locations if you see leaf burn and bleaching.

Tip 2:  Cut back plants

If your plants have experienced a spring growth spurt, it might be time to cut back! There are many benefits to pruning plants.

Size control: Trim out of control branches with sharp snips, and be sure to remove no more than 25% of the leaves.

Shaping: keeping your plant well manicured and shaping it how you like is great for maintaining your desired aesthetic.

Rejuvenation: If your plant is looking leggy or tattered, cutting back dead foliage can help send nutrients to healthy leaves and branches. This will ultimately help your plant grow better!

Reblooming: Once old flowers have faded, cutting them back will help your plant put its energy into producing new blooms.

Fertilizing plants is necessary for them to thrive! Fertilizer is especially important during times of active growth. Most plants prefer to be fertilized twice a month during the growing season (spring and summer). Never apply fertilizer directly to dry soil! There are different types of fertilizer for different plant species. For specifics, check out our A-Z Guide to determine which fertilizer is best for your plants.!
