Inside the model that turns orders into dignified employment and lasting change
501(c)(3) Nonprofit · Every Purchase Funds Artisan Livelihoods

Hello Friend,

A few days ago, we told you that Joffa is a nonprofit. Today, we want to show you how the model works.

The mechanic:

When you shop at joffa.com, your purchase funds an order we've already placed with one of our 67 partner workshops. Those workshops train and employ highly-skilled artisans rebuilding from trafficking, abuse, displacement, and poverty.

When you donate to Joffa, 100% of your gift flows directly to a partner workshop as a purchase order. Your donation becomes inventory, which becomes paid hours, which becomes rent, groceries, and school fees.

You can support us as a customer and as a donor. Both channels fund the same thing: dignified employment.

The impact math:

  • $150 = 1 week of paid work for one artisan
  • $600 = 1 full month of steady income
  • $7,800 = a full year of paid work

What that looks like:

Piodad came to our partner Second Chances in Ecuador determined to secure steady income to support her two children. Her neighborhood's drug-related violence had begun reaching into the schools. When Joffa began partnering with Second Chances, Piodad was hired to fulfill our orders. The income covered uniforms, supplies, and the gap costs her children's scholarships didn't reach. Both now attend a safe private school, and Piodad has started volunteering at the Hope Center herself.

Many of our partners also provide trauma counseling, job training, safe housing, and scholarships. When Joffa's orders grow, partners can extend those services to more people in their communities.

We're building Joffa with the discipline of a real business so it can scale impact for decades. Your support helps make sure there's work at the studio tomorrow morning when the artisans show up.

With gratitude,
Brandon Wells
