British Cycling Foundation launches |
Social impact happens every day and is something that anyone can achieve by delivering activities, volunteering their time and fundamentally reaching out to support others. On Tuesday our staff and Great Britain Cycling Team riders delivered over 1,200 hours of volunteering activity, to mark the official launch of our new ‘charitable arm’ - the British Cycling Foundation.
Led by Ed Clancy OBE, the Foundation will invest in and support a range of programmes and initiatives with a focus on improving health, promoting inclusion and tackling inactivity and isolation. |

3,500 miles of safer routes |
On Wednesday, Mayors from across England committed to delivering a national walking, wheeling and cycling network, backed by government. Work to deliver a national active travel network will begin with Mayoral Combined Authorities agreeing an initial network of 3,500 miles of safer routes.
These will connect homes to schools and high streets, with a particular focus on communities where health outcomes and air quality need the most improvement. |

Looking back a couple of weeks to 21-22 June, there was a busy weekend of action covering road, circuit and cycle speedway. Then just eight days ago, the Lloyds National Road Championships kicked off with three events playing out on the roads of Aberaeron and Aberystwyth in Wales. |

The Tour de France kicks off this weekend on Saturday, for a whole month of back-to-back action. Coming up next week from 9-13 July is the UCI MTB World Cup in Andorra, and the UEC BMX Racing European Championships in Latvia from 10-13 July.
Closer to home, it's the 2025 Ilkley Cycle Races today (Friday), while at the weekend Huntingdon play host to the National Junior Road Race Championships. Birmingham will also host Rounds 9&10 of the Lloyds BMX National Series.
Looking ahead, on Saturday 12 July the National Enduro and E-Enduro Championships will be in Machynlleth, and the National Youth Omnium Final will be at Lee Valley. |

Now that we're a whole month into summer, we want to know if you're doing any cross-training - and how you might balance it with time on the bike.
Cross-training can include sports like running, gym sessions, tennis, yoga, swimming, team sports and more - whatever you supplement your cycling with. When answering, compare your exercise split against winter and spring. |
