Hi ,

Last Friday, Tim Ferriss mentioned Brodo in his 5-Bullet Friday newsletter.

We’ve admired Tim’s thoughtful approach to food, health, performance, and daily rituals for years through his books and podcast, so hearing that Brodo has become part of his morning routine genuinely means a lot to us.

Tim and Chef Marco Canora recorded a podcast together back in 2021— a conversation that touched on food, restaurants, recovery, hospitality, and the habits that help people feel their best over the long term. It remains one of our favorite interviews Marco has ever done.

Here’s what Tim shared with his readers last week:

What I’m drinking in the mornings

Brodo Bone Broth. Broth is one of the easiest ways to get quality protein and nutrition first thing in the morning. For the past two months, I’ve been having 1–2 Brodo packets per day, often simply poured into a mug and microwaved for 60 seconds.

Brodo was founded by Chef Marco Canora, who was one of my primary teachers in The 4-Hour Chef. Marco is the real deal. He won a James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York City, which is like winning an Oscar in the food world, and he has plenty of other awards and accolades to boot.

Brodo quickly became the most famous broth in NYC. The challenge for Marco has always been creating versions of his broths that (A) were shelf-stable, (B) met his high standards, and (C) didn’t require refrigeration… which he finally nailed.

My favorite flavors so far are Tuscan Sun and Tom Yum, which are included in their sampler box. If you wanna get fancy, you can use a milk frother to buzz extra-virgin olive oil (I like Kosterina) into Tuscan Sun, and you can squeeze some lime juice into the Tom Yum for extra pop.

We especially appreciated Tim mentioning the years of work that went into creating our current pantry-ready broth that still meets Chef Marco’s standards.

From the beginning, Brodo has been made using restaurant technique: roasted bones, organic vegetables, long simmer times, and a careful open-kettle process that prioritizes flavor, clarity, and nourishment over speed or shortcuts.

Translating that process into a convenient shelf-stable format without compromising quality took far longer than we expected — but we believed it was worth doing the right way.

We’re grateful to Tim for the generous words, and grateful to everyone who continues to make Brodo part of their daily routine.
