BU Plays Host to BPS Students

Boston University hosted students from Boston Public Schools’ Young Men’s Summer Institute for three days of hands-on activities and opportunities to learn about educational and career pathways. The Summer Institute is a six week leadership program that prepares BPS students for success through mentorship, leadership development, college and career exploration, financial literacy, and more. During their visit to BU, the students met with faculty, researchers, clinicians, engineers, and staff from across BU’s Charles River and Medical Campuses. Above, BPS students tour BU’s Engineering Product Innovation Center (EPIC) on July 21 where Chakaiya Harrison (ENG’26) (left), a lab assistant, demonstrates how to use a Haberle Cold Saw, used for cutting metal and plastic.
