Dear Andy,

September is Hunger Action Month, and there is one quick and easy action you can take right now that will make a real difference: sign up for action alerts from Second Harvest Heartland’s policy advocacy team. Anyone who joins our growing list of anti-hunger advocates by this Friday will be automatically entered into a drawing to receive one of 30 remaining “End Hunger Together” tote bags and a pair of limited-edition sunglasses—both of which flew off the shelves at the State Fair last month!

As an anti-hunger advocate, you’ll receive occasional action alerts that make it both quick and easy to message your lawmakers in support of critical hunger-relief policies at the state and federal levels. Earlier this year, anti-hunger advocates sent more than 12,000 messages to the Governor and state lawmakers, which was instrumental in securing millions of dollars in funding for food shelves and food banks. The process works—and with demand for food assistance, it’s more vital to our work than ever before.

Please consider joining our community of anti-hunger advocates by midnight on Friday for a chance to win some limited-edition Second Harvest Heartland swag!

With 1 in 5 Minnesota families unable to afford the food they need, we need smarter policies—not just more food—to make hunger history in Minnesota. Your voice is critical to making that dream a reality.

Sincerely,

Caleigh Gumbiner
Advocacy Manager, Second Harvest Heartland

P.S. While filling in your address for the sign-up form is optional, please make sure to include it if you’d like to be considered for the giveaway. You’ll receive an email confirmation from us within one week from today if you’re one of the lucky winners.
