Cohorts: Deeper Learning Opportunities

New Organizations 101: [April - June]

We are launching a cohort for new and emerging organizations to learn the fundamentals of setting up their structure, creating a communications strategy, and fundraising to sustain their work. You should apply if you have questions like:

  • How should I set up my organization, legally and operationally? What structure suits our needs best?
  • How do I translate my scientific research to engage various audiences? How do I talk about what I work on so that people care?
  • How do I raise money to do the work?

Please read the full program description here.

Apply here by Wednesday, March 26th. We will notify all applicants by March 28th. (Please save the dates in your calendar when applying!)

Digital Communications Cohort [May - June]

Cultivate Strategies will be holding a Digital Communications Cohort from May-June 2025. This cohort is best suited for organizations with an email program and one or more social media channels. The focus of this year’s cohort will be on harnessing communications to engage your key audiences. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Digital strategic planning & process (goal setting, calendars, approval process)
  • Translating technical writing to be accessible for all audiences
  • Social media tool kits
  • Storytelling - Learn how to engage different audiences
  • Fundraising strategies (Giving Tuesday, End of Year, or otherwise)
  • AI for digital communications

While we will have exercises to develop calls to action and small-dollar fundraising goals, ideally your organization would have these heading into the cohort.

Please read the full program description here.

*All sessions will take place weekly for 5 weeks from between the week of May 12th through the week of June 9th. The timing will be crowdsourced in the application to accommodate the most attendees.

Apply here by March 31st. We will notify all applicants by April 16th.
