Dear Friend,
Hurricane Melissa is now a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 160 miles per hour, and it’s battering Jamaica with torrential rain, catastrophic flooding, and powerful winds. Communities are bracing for widespread devastation.
Even as conditions worsen, MAP International is already responding.
Working with trusted local partners, MAP has mobilized 20,000 Disaster Health Kits for families in Jamaica and neighboring islands.
Each kit, costing just $10 to assemble and deliver, contains essential hygiene items like soap and first aid supplies, along with basic medicines to help families stay healthy when clean water and shelter are scarce.
Because MAP has well-established partners in the region, aid can move quickly, ensuring help reaches people as soon as it’s safe to distribute supplies.
Our Emergency Response team is seeking to raise $100,000 for this initial phase of relief, with additional support expected as needs grow.
Your gift today will help rush lifesaving aid to families who have lost everything, bringing hope and health when it’s needed most.
