Dear Friend,
The news reports are heartbreaking: In the early hours of the morning of July 4, the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas rose more than 26 feet in the course of just 45 minutes, leaving a trail of death and destruction in its wake.
With each passing hour, the devastating aftermath of the flood becomes more apparent as first responders race to stricken areas to rescue survivors and search for those who are still missing. The death toll now stands at 80, including 27 children, and that number continues to rise by the hour. Thousands have been forced to flee their homes with little but what they could carry.
To help the people in Texas, MAP is sending Disaster Health Kits—containing essential items like first aid supplies and soap for personal hygiene—to our on-the-ground partner, Convoy of Hope, for distribution to individuals who may have lost everything.
We need to raise $100,000 so that when emergencies like this strike, we can respond as quickly as possible. Your gift now will ensure that when the next emergency hits, we will be able to rush lifesaving medicine and critical health supplies to first responders and displaced people in need.
