For Manga, a mother raising four children in Zambia, life wasn’t always easy. Her village’s old borehole well frequently broke down. Safe water was unreliable at best. When the borehole failed, families were forced to drink from a shallow well, risking illness.

Thanks to the support of our generous donors, CMMB was able to construct a new mechanized borehole, providing safe, clean water for Manga and her community.

Manga jumped into action. She started a garden, something she couldn’t have done without a reliable water source. She now grows fresh, organic vegetables for her family.

Nearly 1 in 3 children under 5 in Zambia experience stunted growth due to malnutrition. This garden not only helps Manga's family combat malnutrition but also offers a source of income. Manga sells the surplus produce to her village and nearby communities. “This garden is not only for me. It is feeding many families around here,” she said.
