Atim, a mother in South Sudan, holds her newborn
Andy,
Atim lives in South Sudan, where mothers and their newborns die at higher rates than nearly anywhere else. After she felt sharp pain in her abdomen, her local health facility sent her to CMMB-supported St. Theresa Mission Hospital in Nzara. Atim needed an emergency C-section, and her baby required extra care.
Thanks to generous donors like you, St. Theresa had the equipment needed to save their lives. Ultrasound machines, surgical equipment, and neonatal incubators had been provided by CMMB. “I’m so grateful for the support CMMB is providing to mothers and our babies,” Atim said. “I know my child is going to be okay.”
Women and children are among the most vulnerable populations in the world, suffering the most from illness and poverty. Despite important roles within their communities, too many women and children lack access to quality health care, compounding many other threats to their ongoing health and well-being.
We know that improved health means improved lives. We believe that hope has the power to inspire women as they struggle to overcome obstacles and change the lives of their children for the better..
In grace and peace, CMMB - Healthier Lives Worldwide
