Email,
They're not waiting until Election Day to try to silence Black voters.
Donald Trump's Justice Department just announced it is sending federal election monitors to Detroit, Lansing, and East Lansing — three of Michigan's strongest Democratic cities — for August's primary elections. At the same time, Trump is also fighting in court to gain access to Michigan's voter rolls after judges rejected its demands.
This is a blinking warning sign. Michigan isn't a random choice. It's one of the most important battleground states in the country. They are laying the groundwork now to intimidate voters and undermine confidence in elections before ballots are even cast.
These attacks come on the back of the Supreme Court’s gutting of the Voting Rights Act, which prompted states like Louisiana and Alabama to rush to eliminate Black majority districts.
There is only one answer: organize earlier and organize deeper. That is why Color of Change launched our Black Voter Registration Program, the cornerstone of our 2026 Voter Protection Plan. Our goal is to register 99,000 Black voters across six states, including Michigan, before the midterms, enough to protect the most at-risk seats and rebuild the registration floor that voter suppression has eroded.
Michigan is only the beginning. The attacks on voting rights are accelerating, and so is our response. Every $11 helps register another Black voter. Every $55 helps register five. Chip in $55 today and help us build the power they'll never be able to suppress.

The people attacking voting rights understand something important: Black voters have the power to shape this country's future. That's exactly why they're trying so hard to stop us.
First they used the Supreme Court ruling as a greenlight to dismantle majority-Black congressional districts. Now the Trump administration is escalating its campaign to intimidate Black communities while demanding unprecedented access to voter data.
Every move is part of the same plan to take away Black political power by creating barriers, confusion, and exhaustion. But across Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana, Color Of Change is already fighting back.
Across those six states, half a MILLION eligible Black voters are not registered. So we’ve launched a program to register voters, train volunteers, organize communities, and mobilize people long before misinformation and intimidation campaigns can take hold.
Once someone is registered and engaged, they don't just vote once. They vote in 2026, 2028, 2030, and beyond. They strengthen Black political power for the long haul. We're contacting hundreds of thousands of voters through text messages, phone calls, canvassing, digital outreach, and community events. We're building trusted relationships that cannot be erased by one court ruling or one election cycle.
But none of this happens without grassroots support. The more we raise today, the more Black voters we can register tomorrow.
Chip in $55 now to register five new Black voters and help build the movement that will protect Black political power long after this election is over.
Until Justice Is Real,
Color Of Change
