When Chef Lisa was a child, her family spent a lot of time at her grandmother’s house during the summer months. Her grandma kept a hidden stash of sweets in the house — she didn’t think the grandkids knew they were there! That stash always included peanut brittle and almond-studded See’s Toffee-ettes. When Lisa developed her Box of Toffee in 2013 — a classic, crisp indulgence made with just four ingredients (including local Clover butter) — it was inspired by those early memories.

Lisa’s Nibby Toffee is covered in 70% Zorzal Comunitario chocolate and topped with cocoa nibs of the same origin. She has visited Zorzal in the Dominican Republic, and enjoys the origin’s dairy undertones and fruity aroma.

Technically, this Toffee was our very first confection, before we even had a Confections team, and it continues to be a guest favorite. A sprinkling of sea salt heightens the chocolate’s flavor.
