Repeat After Us: Summer Isn't Over
|
May we make a small plea to just enjoy summer without pre-grieving the end of it? Looking around, there's basically a nationwide heat wave and we're fully in the summery thick of it. Fall will be here soon enough — walk into any big box store if you'd like a jump scare of costumes and skeletons. But, if the end-of-summer scaries have come to visit, we've got you! We believe there's value in every single season, and we love finding
ways to be present vs. experiencing FOMO about a season that has more than 50 (!) days left.
How can you come back to the present and dig into these hot summer days? One idea: Find some quality air conditioning at your local library, museum, or even the mall. There's something so nostalgic about getting your steps in with a side of window shopping.

Hello, UV Awareness Month
|
ICYMI, July is UV Awareness Month, and we can't stop thinking about the fact that only ~15% of adults in the U.S. use sunscreen every day. We also totally get it. Most of us grew up thinking sunscreen was something you packed for long, sunny beach days, not something you reached for daily. But the more we learn about sun exposure, our recommendation is to treat sun protection like brushing your teeth or washing your hands: a small habit you do every
day without giving it a second thought.

Worth Your Time > Worth Your Money
|
The five things worth your money trend is all over our socials, and we couldn't resist thinking about the anti-beauty practices that have been so worth it for us (read: have genuinely changed our lives for the better): Running errands without makeup on until it became comfortable. We were in our twenties during the daily "full glam boom" of 2016, so a grocery store trip without full-coverage foundation took effort when first stepping away from beauty standards. Learning to embrace our natural hair texture and appreciate our curls exactly how they are that day (because no day is ever the same, right?). Finding multitasking products that make life easier. Of course, we may be a bit biased here, but it's so worth it to have more time to do what we want with our days. Using up (and enjoying!) the products we already have before buying new. Spoiler alert: This resulted in almost two years with zero spending in the makeup aisle. Plus, how satisfying is it to actually finish a product? Reminding ourselves that NO ONE is noticing your pimple as much as you are.
