PATHOPHYSIOLOGY

Pathophysiology is the science of what happens when the body’s normal functions are disrupted. It explains how inflammation, cellular changes, or hormonal shifts turn into the symptoms we feel. For years, the pathophysiology of many women’s health conditions sat in the dark, but growing research and funding are finally shining a light on those gaps.

 When women are cared for, the whole system gets stronger. A recent ​report by the World Economic Forum found that closing the investment gap in women’s healthcare could add up to $1 trillion to the global economy each year by 2040.
