The Trump administration has shared its proposed budget – and it outlines an attack plan on our nation’s most important ecosystems and vulnerable wildlife.

In addition to across-the-board cuts for all non-defense spending, here are just a few of the anti-wildlife proposals in this budget:

• Delist gray wolves and populations of grizzly bears from the Endangered Species Act;

• Scrap habitat protections for animals like Northern spotted owls and Canada lynx;

• Block bison reintroduction on wildlife refuges; and,

• Massive funding cuts to the Endangered Species Act itself and other programs that help prevent animals from becoming extinct.

Last year’s budget slashed vital wildlife programs throughout the country and left America’s wildlife reeling.

This latest proposal goes even further – and it’s clear that this administration will stop at nothing to gut existing wildlife protections for the sake of short-term profit and reckless development.
