Spain and Portugal share a border, a peninsula and plenty of football history. Sangria is another thing they both do well, just slightly differently.
In Spain, it is usually red wine, citrus, chopped fruit, sugar and sometimes brandy. In Portugal, it is often a little looser: red, white or sparkling wine, fresh fruit, sometimes port, liqueur or vinho verde.
Tonight, they meet at the World Cup. We’re pouring a Desi Daru version with red wine, citrus, fruit, Original vodka and plenty of ice. A little Spanish, a little Portuguese, and made for sharing.
