Playing Football Amidst the Canals

tFor those arriving to Venice from the mainland, Sant'Elena is the furthest area to reach. Venetians can be found there, walking, reading the newspaper and getting some vitamin D on the benches, because this is where one of the city’s few green areas is located:
the Parco delle Rimembranze, where the only public and free five-a-side football pitch can be found.

It was here that in the summer of 2021, two German students and a Ukrainian student began training.

In the Venice League, everyone is entitled to take part regardless of age, gender, background and level of play.

For the upcoming season, the Sant’Elena Amateur Sports Association will have a new kit created by Diadora, which - since 1948 - has been supporting athletes and organisations that promote sport as an inclusive activity that brings people together and allows everyone to have fun and improve.
