At Do Good, we talk about love for others, love for community, and just as importantly, love for self. Our Love Collection is a celebration of all the ways love shows up in our lives, from deep friendships to quiet moments alone with a candle and a breath. I’ve been thinking more about what it really means to connect with myself and how that can help me physically, mentally, and emotionally. Not just in a surface-level, to-do-list kind of way, but in a deeper, quieter way that helps me recognize what is going well and what I need more of to feel happy and fulfilled.
Lately, I’ve felt that connection in unexpected places. In slow, joy-filled time with my grandson. In laughing with friends over something silly. In trying something totally new, like Mahjong, and remembering that I’m still allowed to learn, stretch, and be a beginner. And sometimes, self-connection happens in quieter ways, like sitting down to reflect and prepare for our Soul Map event. These moments are about getting honest with myself about where I am and what I want more of.
We talk a lot about self-care, and it often gets tied up in doing. But what I’m learning is that self-connection is more about being. Being present. Being curious. Being kind to myself. And being willing to listen, even if the answers come slowly.
So whether it’s lighting a candle at the end of a long day, trying something new like a game or craft, or simply sitting with your thoughts for a few quiet minutes, I hope you find small ways to reconnect with yourself this week. These moments don’t have to be big to be meaningful. They just have to be yours. Here’s to a season of deeper connection, softer light, and showing up fully as yourself, one intentional breath at a time.
