This past week has felt a little off for me. I’ve been in one of those moods where focusing feels harder than usual, and motivation just isn’t showing up the way I expect, want, or need it to.  The to-do list sat untouched, I chose sleep over exercise, and pouring candles seemed like so much work.  I caught myself doing what I think many of us do in those moments and quietly beat myself up about it. 

But the more I thought and journaled about it, the more I realized that these slower stretches might not actually be a problem to solve. Sometimes they are exactly what our minds and bodies need. Creativity, energy, and new ideas rarely show up when we are pushing ourselves nonstop. They tend to come after we’ve had space to rest, reset, and let things be a little quieter for a while.

So instead of forcing my way through it, I’m trying to let this season be still and steady. A slower pace doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Sometimes it simply means we are moving toward the clarity and energy we need for what comes next.
