Happy Sunday, friend,
Last week, I wrote about noticing what is blooming in your life, about the quiet shift that comes with spring, and giving yourself permission to let things unfold naturally. I also talked about the winter storm right before Easter, and how almost a foot of snow covered what had started to bloom. Mother Nature put the pause on the onset of spring. But as the snow has melted, those signs of growth and progress are once again visible and will continue forward.
Isn't that a perfect example of real life?
There are seasons when we can feel ourselves moving forward, when energy is up, things are clicking, and progress feels real. And then something happens. A slow month, a project that falls through, a family illness, a relationship that gets complicated, or a season of life that asks more of us than we expected. It can feel like all that growth has stopped, or, worse, that it has been taken away from us entirely.
But I do not think that is actually what happens. I think we are more like those trees than we realize. The growth does not disappear just because something hard came along and covered it up for a while. It waits, it holds, and when things shift again, which they always do, it continues right where it left off. The snow always melts, and what was growing underneath is still there, ready for us to focus on it once again.
So if you are in a moment right now that feels like a setback, I want you to know that you have not lost the ground you gained. You are just in a pause.
This week, think about an area of your life or your business where you felt like you were making real progress, and then something came along and interrupted it. Is it possible that the growth is still there, just waiting for the right conditions to continue?
