Happy Sunday, friend-
It's been quiet in your inbox this month. But it has not been quiet at the studio.
I've been getting ready for Faire Summer Market (an online wholesale market), finalizing products I've been testing for weeks, taking photos, updating listings, writing descriptions, and analyzing pricing. Basically, all the unglamorous stuff nobody sees. Fall is the busy season for a candle business, and it starts long before it feels like fall.
So I've been working a lot, trying to stay focused, and making lists about my lists.
Which is a funny thing to admit in an email about slow rituals.
But here's the part I keep coming back to. It's the middle of July. Half of the summer is already behind us. But half of it is still sitting right there, waiting.
I don't want to work straight through it. I don't want to look up in September and realize I missed the good part.
But I try to keep one rule: Sunday nights stay slow. That means I am not at the studio and I'm not doing work on my computer (ahem, unless I need to finish my Sunday email...oops). Sunday evenings always include lighting a candle, sitting outside while it's still warm, and letting the evening take as long as it wants to end.
But before I sign off for this Sunday, I wanted to let you finally know about something new in the shop. The Lavender Meadows Gift Set was created because of my current obsession with blue floral patterns and my discovery of a candle care set that had exactly that! The candle was inspired by customers at our candle bar. Soft, herbal, a little sweet. It doesn't fill a room so much as settle it.
I made it as a gift set because lavender feels like something you hand to someone when you want them to rest. But there's nothing wrong with keeping it.
