Happy Sunday, friend- Most of us are better at giving than receiving. We try to remember the birthdays, and we bring the food, or we notice when someone seems a little off and check on them later, quietly, so nobody has to make a thing of it. Then somebody hands us something, and we say "Oh, you shouldn't have", and we mean it, and some part of us is already working out how to pay it back. I do this too. In fact, just today, someone dropped off a gift for me as a thank you, and I'm sitting here feeling guilty, wondering how I can repay the act of kindness. I'm trying to just let my "thank you" be enough and thoroughly enjoy the gift. But it's hard. Let's try to work on this together, ok? This week, before anything else, let something be for you. Not earned, not traded, not squeezed in after the list is finished. Just yours. Light the candle you've been saving. Take the long way home. Sit outside until the light goes soft. Just say "thank you" when someone else shows you kindness. There is room for you in your own life. You're allowed to take up some of it. love & do good - Debbi
