Four of our grant recipients premiered feature and short films that exemplified bold storytelling brought to life through Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. |

After their sold-out premieres, feature filmmakers Beth de Araújo (Josephine) and Josef Kubota Wladyka (Ha-chan, Shake Your Booty!) joined a conversation on creative sound design, moderated by Dolby Creator Lab’s Glenn Kiser. These feature films took home the festival’s highest prizes. Josephine received both the U.S. Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic and the Audience Award: U.S. Dramatic, presented by Acura, while Josef Kubota Wladyka was awarded the Directing Award: U.S. Dramatic for Ha-chan, Shake Your Booty!. The film was subsequently acquired for release by Sony Pictures Classics.
Short film directors Gabriela Ortega (Marga en el D.F.) and Amandine Thomas (Albatross) reflected on their journey from early concept to Sundance premiere alongside Antigravity Academy founder Carlos López Estrada and Dolby Creator Lab’s Amanda Schneider. Both shorts were produced through Antigravity Academy's Short Film Studio powered by Dolby Creator Lab.
