Saturday Snack: Sunglasses I Won't Take Off, Striped Flip Flops, Perfect Shorts, etc etc etcLittle tidbits from around the internet. What a week I had. On Weds I was finally given the green light to announce my/our new e-comm site, Earl URL. It’s a nice place to shop out a wide range of things I love from wherever you happen to be, not just at my store. In the fall, Earl URL will also have some of the specialty inventory from my store, but that’s still in the works. I was also finally able to release my book into the wild! It’s surreal to finally get to talk about two huge projects on the same day, but it was even more surreal to work on them in secrecy. I don’t like having secrets. The book is an extension of this newsletter. A longer form how-to to finding personal style, building a wardrobe, and outfit ideas aimed for every day life for women in midlife and beyond. It’s called What To Wear Every Day, and I’d love it if you’d consider pre-ordering it! As I understand it, pre-orders help a lot with making sure people can see and find the book. What a life! I also got to spend two days with Alyssa from Donni at my store this week and…man. She is the fucking best. Best energy, nicest, chillest person, a 100/10 hang, and knowing her makes me love her clothes (which were already excellent) so much more. What a dream when good people make good things. We’re hanging on to some of the pieces from our trunkshow through next week, so if you weren’t able to make it and you’d like to see what we have, we’ll post our store hours for next week on Monday on our Instagram, and you can swing by. And here’s the snack. THESE FLIP FLOPSJelly, striped flip flops. Heaven. They come in blue and red stripes - I’m partial to the blue. Black Suede Studio, $150 IDEAL SHORTSA few weeks ago I was in New York for a photoshoot and the hairstylist was (a guy, these are men’s shorts) wearing these shorts. They were…the only thing I could look at. They’re so cute, so perfect, the length is so excellent, there’s no way I’m not ordering them. I’m sizing up and then hopefully they’re a little too long and I can chop off the ends and let them fray. This is all you’ll see me wearing for the rest of the summer. Madewell, $98 THE WHITE LEATHER SHOES I’M GOING TO BEAT TO HELLI am not immune to the charms of Celine men’s beat up white leather slippers from the Spring 2027 show. Zoom in on this. I love the idea of owning something precious and then just wearing the fuck out of it. I’ve tried to make Celine’s little tap shoes work for me, but they just don’t. These, however, I think will do nicely with my new Madewell shorts. I love having permission to wear these pristine, gorgeous white shoes, and really wear them and live in them and break them in the same way I broke in my favorite pair of jeans. I am very excited about this! The Row, $990 A FIREY RED POPOVERAnother thing I’ve taken from Michael Rider’s Celine is red + tan. Oh man, I was almost done with tan after the quiet luxury thing but with red! HEAVEN! He put those colors together a lot in his first collection for Celine, and it stuck with me. Now, whenever I see something gorgeous red I want to collect it to wear with all of my chinos and tan pants. This one I’d wear with my new shorts too! I love it. Alex Mill, $165 I PUT THESE ON AND NOW I WON’T TAKE THEM OFFI love Thistles sunglasses (I have them coming in to Earl IRL in the fall), and these are the latest pair I absolutely cannot stop wearing. They’re so bitchy, so sporty, so silly, and yet so practical, they tick every single box for me. They are glued to my face. Thistles, $365 THIS PRAIRIE GIRL MEETS NEW ENGLAND SHIRTI got this a few seasons ago…and now I can’t find it…and now I feel like I must have it again. Another thing that would be perfect with those Madewell shorts, it’s so preppy and classic and familiar, but also sexy, but also the colors are weird. I love everything about it, and I am determined to find mine (or order a replacement). Doen, $215 THESE SHEER BALLOON PANTSI saw girl after girl after girl try these on and buy them this week and now I’m also convinced I need a pair. They’re sheer, but also shiny, and not super duper see through…but definitely sheer, and they’re balloon shaped. Not something I think I’d typically jump on, but they look so great on, I have to get a pair. I love the black ones with a black button down, but the tan color would be great with a (can you guess?) red cotton sweater. Donni, $288 A FABULOUS LITTLE STYLING FLOURISH FROM MARIA MCMANUSThis double-sided scarf - one side is black and white striped, the other is green satin. Tie it around your neck, your waist, your hair, on your bag, it’s the weird little extra thing you love but aren’t sure you’ll use when you buy it but then it ends up absolutely making every one of your outfits sing. Maria McManus, $230 BIRKENSTOCK X REPETTOI’m a pretty big sucker for a Birkenstock collab, and I really love this red patent leather Arizona sandal from their recent collaboration with Repetto. The red is so juicy, the gingham sole is so horny, the shape is so frumpy, everything about it sings. I love these. Birkenstock 1774 x Repetto, $430 THAT’S IT!
