Pocket Square Tip #3: The tie is optional

While we love a good tie, if you want a less formal look or warmer-weather look that still feels put together, you can always skip the tie and wear a pocket square anyway.

Open collar, clean jacket, sharp fold.

It reads relaxed… but never sloppy.

Just look how much more finished these outfits look with a pocket square than without!

By the way, pocket squares work with any type of jacket, from safari jackets to blazers to tailored suits -- with or without a tie.

And you don't even need a button-down shirt: fitted tees and polos under a sports jacket work great with a pocket square, too!
