Email, Today, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche had his confirmation hearing to determine if he is fit for the official position. At the NRA's annual meeting in April, Todd Blanche boasted that he was a member of the gun industry. Days later, standing before industry lobbyists, he, along with Robert Cekada, announced over 30 new ATF rules that will roll back critical gun safety regulations. It is clear as day that Todd Blanche is unfit to be our Attorney General. We need to mobilize our base right away to demand that our lawmakers oppose this dangerous nomination. We'll do all that we can, but your support is needed now more than ever: The rules that Todd Blanche announced will make sweeping and dangerous changes to federal gun safety regulations — changes that the Trump administration admits could result in greater and increased risks to public safety and that will benefit the gun industry. Beyond the dangerous policy changes, there is a glaring ethical concern: Todd Blanche's mother-in-law is the CEO of a company that manufactures high-capacity magazines. This is yet another example of the Trump administration nominating individuals with deep financial ties to the very industries they are meant to regulate. We must ensure we have the fuel needed to stand up against this dangerous confirmation.
