For those who haven't felt raw silk, you're in for a treat! Unlike the slick, crinkly texture that processed silk fabrics often have, raw silk is textural and breathable, and wears far better against the skin.

Our Japanese partner mill blended this fabric with a touch of cotton to achieve a wonderfully balanced textile, truly unlike anything we've ever worked with. It's robust yet supple, textural yet elegant, and has handily earned its place in Team GV's weekly rotation.

Our ongoing Spring Oxford cloth capsule has been offered since 2020, but this is the first time we've offered our proprietary fabric from a Japanese mill. Woven to the exact same construction specs as our Portuguese-woven Spring Oxford, these new additions differ in a couple of ways.

Like most of our Japanese fabrics, these were woven on antique looms and dyed using traditional techniques. The result is a smooth, supple fabric with incredible depth of color. Second, and perhaps more obviously, these fabrics are all cut to our signature popover silhouette for a more heritage-inspired design.
