2. Verify: At the airport, a CLEAR Ambassador will verify your identity with your face to complete your enrollment.

CLEAR+ is currently available at 55+ airports. Members can also use the CLEAR App to get into several stadiums and arenas faster, and to upload their passport for an even faster enrollment experience.

What is the difference between CLEAR+ and TSA PreCheck®?

CLEAR+ and TSA PreCheck® both help you get better travel, but the programs are not the same.

CLEAR+ Membership helps you get to airport security faster with quick identity verification.

• Enrollment: Requires enrolling online or in-person

TSA PreCheck® membership is a trusted traveler program administered by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). It eases the security screening process for flights leaving from US airports. With TSA PreCheck®, there is no need to remove shoes, belts, light jackets, or 3-1-1 liquids.

• Availability: 200+ airports nationwide
• Enrollment: Eligibility requires passing a background check.

Can I get TSA PreCheck® through CLEAR?

First-time applicants: If you are a first-time applicant, you can pre-enroll in TSA PreCheck® online, then go to a CLEAR enrollment location to complete your TSA PreCheck® application. You’ll need a valid US passport or other acceptable forms of ID. A five-year TSA PreCheck® membership costs $77.95.

Existing TSA PreCheck® memberships: If you have an existing TSA PreCheck® membership, you can renew online through CLEAR as soon as 6 months before its expires. Renewal cost is $68.95.

Both programs provide an easier travel experience, but using CLEAR+ and TSA PreCheck® together offers a better journey—especially if you’re an anxious or impatient traveler like me!

Hold membership status with select airline loyalty programs

Hold select American Express® cards

Several Amex cards entitle you to a statement credit for a CLEAR+ membership.
