Greener Days Ahead

TPL supported the successful passage of 2026 Parks Bond in Tacoma, Washington—which voters approved with 77% support. The $155 million investment will help protect natural areas, improve and modernize parks and recreation facilities, expand access to green space, and create safer, cleaner, and more inclusive places for communities to gather and play across the city.

Investing in Play

Minnesota’s Brooklyn Center Elementary recently celebrated a milestone: new funding that will greatly enhance their current schoolyard! The investment will support additions such as a basketball court, reading area, new plantings, an additional playground, and an outdoor classroom—expanding opportunities for recreation, learning, and community use.

The Art of Connection

TPL and the City of Bridgeport recently unveiled the winning entry for the Bridgeport Seawalk Logo Contest—Jess Tennyson’s artwork, voted on by the public from hundreds of submissions—as the official logo for the future 20-mile trail. Inspired by the city’s shoreline, wildlife, and community spirit, the logo will help represent the transformative public access project for years to come.

A Bronx Boost

PS57x in the Bronx, New York City, recently opened its expanded community green space for students and neighbors in the surrounding area. The project includes site improvements aimed at addressing longstanding rodent issues in the neighborhood while creating a more usable and welcoming schoolyard for all.

Racing Toward a Park

TPL and partners are working to transform the former Golden Gate Fields racetrack into a major new public waterfront park and open space along the East Bay shoreline—and the project recently received a significant investment of $125M from the State of California. Though additional fundraising is still needed to bring the vision to life, this could create more than 500 acres of connected shoreline access, restored habitat, trails, and recreation opportunities for hundreds of thousands of residents.
