Coffee cherries are processed, and the cascara (fruit skin) is collected.

2. COMPOSTED

Cascara is combined with materials like bone meal to create nutrient-rich organic fertilizer pellets.

3. DISTRIBUTED

The fertilizer pellets are distributed back to farmers.

4. HEALTHIER FUTURE

Nutrients return to the soil, supporting healthier coffee trees and better harvests for years to come.

Mario Jesús Rufasto is one of Churupampa's key partner farmers and a close friend of Eber Tocto. Mario worked alongside Eber even before Finca Churupampa was formally founded in 2017, and later joined the organization as a lead member. His farm became organic certified in 2021, and in 2023 he achieved Regenerative Organic Certified® (ROC) status. For Mario, coffee is more than a crop. It's a way to support his family, strengthen his community, and steward the land for generations to come.
