The bad news: the jury ruled that Greenpeace entities are liable for over $660 MILLION in compensatory and punitive damages to the multibillion-dollar Big Oil company.

At over TWO TIMES the damages Energy Transfer originally tried to pin on us, this perverse outcome was the last thing we ever hoped for. 

But there’s more: not only was the evidence insufficient to support Energy Transfer’s accusations against us — the damages exceed what is allowed by the law. So we’re stuck in post-trial limbo until the judge issues a final ruling, after which we can finally appeal to save our rights to free speech and protest.
