Over the last 18 months, when the Trump administration attacks science, we have fought back: |
🚨 Last year, the administration illegally formed of a committee of climate skeptics who leveraged junk science to make their case to unlawfully repeal the 2009 Endangerment Finding—the foundational scientific finding that holds the government accountable to act on climate change.
✅ UCS sued in court and won. In January this year, a judge established as a matter of law that Trump's secret "Climate Working Group" was formed illegally and forced the release of 68,000 pages of records that showed the group's politicization, reckless haste, disregard for public health, and contempt for rigorous science. A month later, UCS joined the American Public Health Association and 15 other organizations in a separate lawsuit against Lee Zeldin and the EPA, alleging that the repeal of the endangerment finding was unlawful. This case is moving through the courts now.
🚨 The Trump administration has cancelled billions of dollars worth of federal funding for clean energy projects, deepening our reliance on fossil fuels proven to accelerate climate change.
✅ UCS is powering boldly ahead. Our scientists and experts are working in states and regions to continue advancing clean, affordable and reliable energy. Recently, we've been fighting in several states to propose solutions and safeguards that would ensure that AI-driven data centers and their developers don't strain the power grid, slow the clean energy transition, and raise electricity costs for ratepayers. And earlier this year, we celebrated as major offshore wind projects in New England sent electricity to the grid for the first time—project that will eventually generate enough electricity to serve up to 750,000 homes.
🚨Now, the administration's cronies in Congress and in the Supreme Court are trying to grant sweeping immunity to the fossil fuel industry against legal and financial accountability for climate change damages.

Our experts have compiled a wealth of documentary evidence—including recently released internal corporate documents from fossil fuel companies—that have helped dozens of states, counties, cities, and tribes across the United States and its territories who are currently suing major fossil fuel companies for fraud, climate damages, or racketeering.
