Hi Friend,
Hunger doesn’t take a vacation.
For nearly 30 million children who rely on the National School Lunch Program during the school year, those words hit close to home — and that’s exactly why Bread for the World needs your help.
Please make a gift to our School’s Out Campaign by tomorrow! Your generosity will support much-needed advocacy.
Children are in school roughly 180 days a year — which means food-insecure children spend almost half the year without the meals they count on.
But there are solutions! SNAP and summer nutrition programs provide summer meals and groceries directly to children when school is out.
However, many families relying on SNAP are being pushed out of the program because of changes to eligibility requirements. In Arizona alone, 181,000 children lost access to SNAP. This means many children across the country have less food on their tables this summer.
We need your help. These programs work, but they need advocates like you. Together, we can push Congress and state leaders to make sure life-altering programs reach every child who needs them — this summer and year-round.
We’ve set a goal of raising $10,000 through our School’s Out Campaign, and we need your help to get there. So please give today — your generosity powers the movement to end childhood hunger.
Warmly,
|
